Where is my progress saved?

By default, in your browser's local storage, so you can use ClearMath without an account. If you create a free account and sign in, your progress also syncs to your account so you can pick up on any device. You can also export it as a JSON backup file from the Progress page and re-import it elsewhere.

Does the AI tutor just give the answer?

No. It gives one progressive hint at a time and asks a follow-up question instead of revealing the answer, and never gives the final answer on a quiz or checkpoint. The ‘Show full solution’ button is a separate, visible escape hatch. Free includes 5 tutor questions a day; Full Access has no daily limit.

How accurate is the placement check?

The quick placement check covers number sense, proportional reasoning, algebra readiness, graphing, geometry foundations, and data and probability — enough to surface specific topic gaps — with an optional full 30-question version for a sharper read. Each missed question maps to a specific lesson. Per-course placement checks are also available for Logic, Algebra I through College Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, and Statistics.
